Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Last Friday night, we spent the evening in Phoenix! Sylvia stayed with some wonderful friends while we got to enjoy some time with just the boys! The Cubbies were playing the Diamondbacks at Chase Field for several games so it was a must we make it to at least one of them. We thought we would save some time in traffic by parking in Tempe and riding the Light Rail downtown. Also thought the boys would really enjoy it! We ate at the Devil's Advocate, got our tickets and waited. Once we got on, it was a mistake. It was so full, there was only standing room only, and then even it was so crowded, we couldn't move if we wanted to. Some people don't understand the concept of there is no more room, they just kept shoving their way in! Not to mention the rude, annoying, drunken college kids; and we were all going to the same place.... 25 minutes away! The boys got a spot on the steps hanging on so they weren't being shoved into the entire time.  Had we gone on an earlier train it would have been a little better but now we know. They still thought it was pretty cool though.
We all survived and got to the game about half way into the first inning. The stadium roof was open and it was beautiful outside. The boys were so excited. They got some popcorn and soda and took their seats. Cole was really into the game asking questions about it while Grant showed a little interest, but was more concerned with everyone and everything around him. They enjoyed being so close to the front, and especially in foul ball territory! We had great seats! Grant and I even made it on the DBTV (Diamondbacks TV)!!
Cubbies won and we stayed for fireworks after the game. The boys said they definitely wanna come back to another game very soon too! Light Rail ride home wasn't as bad, we let a few trains go so we weren't so crowded. It was pretty cool and turned into a great night! SUCCESS! :)

Go Cubs!
We even got to  see Cubbie!!
