Iowa Flashback Part 3

One of the days while we were back visiting Iowa, we went to the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. I love the zoo, any zoo! We loaded up the vehicle and off we went!
It was so humid that day... Terrible. We still had a good time and it was really neat to see Sylvia take it all in. We have been to the Phoenix zoo many times before, but this was the first time she was talking and seemed interested! The zoo had changed a lot from what I remember, or maybe it was I was used to the bigger zoos, but it was still a real fun day with the kiddos (excluding Grant- I'm not neglecting taking pictures of him at all, he was with his dad) and N and M! :)

Sylvia loved looking at the fish and even those FAKE alligators! Now I may be wrong but when we went into the zoo at about 1130am and then left around 4pm, they were in the exact same position and not even a blink of the eye! Hmmmm.... seems fishy to me!


We even all got to ride on a camel! Sylvia had a close encounter with this one! He just wanted to say Hi! Cole got swallowed by a hippo and spit out again, and they both got to feed those cute little baby goats and chickens!



There was a fun play area for the kids, but it was almost too hot humid to even sit and watch. Sylvia really liked the ostriches, Cole fed a giraffe, and on the way out we found this.... Cole thought he was gonna fall in but Sylvia just looked and thought it was pretty neat!

What an enjoyable day!
