Lets see... Saturday March 14, the kids and I went to the Ostrich Festival with Tara and her 3 kids! It was great! Reminded me of a small Iowa State Fair. There were Ostriches and Zebra, even a few camels! The kids rode on some rides and enjoyed some good ol' ice cream. We saw a baby kangaroo and learned some new things about them... Did you know they they can choose the sex of their baby and can have up to 3 offspring 'going' at once? Very interesting!
Cole enjoyed a camel ride although Grant wasn't sure about it once he got up there so he stayed with mom and watched Cole. We went to see some ostrich races and after sitting there for almost 30 minutes waiting the first race began. When going around the turn one of the riders was thrown off and the bird and it landed on her (400 lbs). That put a halt on the races for a little bit and while waiting the kids got restless so we decided to move on and get a snack. (We later found out that the rider was ok.) So we saw one race, no pictures, but it was still pretty neat! Next year we will try again.
When we were leaving there were some guys doing tricks on some bikes and a quad. Cole and Grant thought it was pretty awesome! It was fun to get out and get some sun! We went out to eat at Logan's Roadhouse after our long day at the festival! Here are some pictures from our fun day!
You will see our new little friends in lots of these photos too! Casia is 12, Hazen is 4 and Gren is almost 2. We have so much fun with them! :)
