Time for another one!
Thursday March 19, Daron, Sylvia, and I went to Scottsdale to meet Kat Von D. She was doing a book signing at Barnes and Noble of her book High Voltage Tattoo.
For those of you that don't know who she is...
in a nut shell...
Kat Von D is a professional tattoo artist working in Hollywood. She has a show on TLC called LA Ink and was previously on the first two seasons of Miami Ink. Kat specializes in fine-line, black & gray style life-like portraits. In addition, many celebrities, athletes and entertainers seek out her services as a tattoo artist.
I'm a big fan of hers (as well as Daron) so after watching her religiously on LA Ink and reading her book we both wanted to meet her.
We got there about 4:30 pm and found were she was going to be. After realizing that we needed to get wrist bands in order to stand in line, we were #420 some. We were sitting with a few other people who were watching Sylvia make faces and talk and they offered to give up one of their wrist bands which was about 200 people closer to the front of the line. Definitely took that offer up! It was so nice, they figured might as well since one of them was only there with other friends that wanted to meet her and thought that way we could get Sylvia home sooner!
They started forming a line around 5:30-6 pm. They had everyone sectioned off in groups of 100. Kat came out at 7 after doing some interviews in the back and boy was everyone excited!! We got to the front right around 8:30. It went fast, but it was pretty warm in there.

It was so neat to meet Kat! Sylvia's first celebrity meeting! :) Of course she had no idea but one day we will tell her all about it! She signed our book and we got to talk for about 30 seconds. They were moving people so fast through the line! It is nice to know though that we do have a mutual friend! The guy who does our tattoos here in Arizona is Corey Miller's brother (he is on LA Ink with Kat- an awesome artist as well). They hang out often! :)
There were just so many people in there! I went to the restroom at one point before she came out and people were just camped out all over the store. We heard there were over 1,300 people there that night to see her! When we left there were lines outside of people waiting!
Kat is just like she is on the show! Such a nice person and just so 'Real'.
Loved it! Now its just a matter of time til we can go back out to Hollywood and get a tat from Kat! ;)
Kat giving a shout out- it was that guys birthday!

Everything went so fast... this was the best picture we could get with baby and Kat together!
Via got her book signed by Kat too!
This is the line OUTSIDE the store... the store was completely full too!
Our finished product! The greatest!
